It’s October and here in Northern, NJ it’s the perfect time for Fall Family Photography. As much as we obsesses over those tiny newborns in the studio, we also obsess over the beauty of the outdoors and all that Autumn in New Jersey has to offer.
Being a photographer during the Fall months is a special kind of privilege. It’s actually our most coveted time of year for family pictures. So, needless to say, between the months of September to late November our schedules are jam packed. But no complaints here. We love this time of year and all Fall things!
We travelled outside of Bergen County to Far Hills, NJ for this fall family photography session and wow, it did not disappoint. We arrived at dads childhood home rich with character and expansive views.
This was the perfect location for a candid session, especially for almost two year old twins, Michael and Reagan. This age can be very hard, so using the outdoor is a great option when trying to capture photographs. It was a beautiful, early evening, so we took advantage of the massive cornfield and began our session there.
There were a few snack breaks in between, a few little breather breaks and of course, a fun ride on a 4×4.
After stealing some great shots in the field, we headed deeper into the property and wound up in the backyard. Definitely not your typical backyard, that’s for the sure. With stunning views and rolling hills, the backyard as definitely the highlight.
Dad was especially excited about doing photos back there for two reason – 1. Him and mom were married in that exact location and 2. his rock
His rock, you question? Situated close to the end of the background and looking down and out, was a large rock that was his favorite spot. We can definitely understand why!
Here are few pics from this adventurous and fun fall family photography session. And long live Fall!
