Meet sweet and adorable Kate. This Midland Park newborn girl portraits were done both inside and outside of our studio. We have been so fortunate, over the last month, to photograph such sweet and beautiful babies. The studio has come to life again and we are in our happy zone!
From the start, little Kate was a true pleasure. She spoiled us with her sleepy sighs and her carefree, “pose me as you wish” attitude. These are what we call, dream sessions. As a full service studio we offer a variety of props and wardrobe to accessorize and design each session with.
Part of the creative process for sessions and for this particular Midland Park newborn girl portraits was to pull different fabrics, textures and props to complete mom’s vision. She requested a very neutral palette for her baby girl. Just variations of white, with very little color. She wanted crisp, classic and clean.
One look that will never get old is a cream and white setup. We love the simple style and how clean the white looks. It’s fresh and new… jus like Kate. With a head full of dark hair and perfect little put, she was one adorable baby. Mom also asked if it was possible to do our in studio swing prop. As beautiful as this set up is, it’s definitely not the easiest of shots to capture and often requires all three of us to be on hand for spotting and positioning purpose. We decorated the swing in muted neutral tones and added in some crisp eucalyptus for a little something extra.
Newborn sessions are typically done in our Midland Park studio as to ensure safety and comfort for everyone. We have found over the years that the sessions tend to go a little more smoothly inside the studio, as we can control light, temperature and sound. It also provides us with quick and easy access to all of our props and accessories. However, not all things are set in stone and adding in a unique variable can always be done.
Since Kate’s session was at the end of June and the recent summer mornings have been very warm, we were able to capture one of mom’s must haves and favorite shots. An outdoor photo of her daughter was first on her list and even before booking, wanted to make sure this was something that could definitely happen. Of course, anything is possible. We agreed to move a small portion of the session to the outside (next to our studio) and fulfill mom’s wish. And, since the weather was very warm and the sky was blue with no rain, it worked like a dream.
We love, love, love how the shot turned out and even for our walk down to the grass, Kate didn’t make a peep. She was just so good and made our jobs a cinch.
Our job has newborn photographers never gets old and we absolutely love snuggling with all these babies! Expecting your own little bundle. We are now booking summer newborn sessions. Contact us for our session information.
